Center for Design, Innovation and Sustainable Transitions brings together researchers from the technical and social sciences as well as the humanities. Working with research areas such as transportation for sustainable cities, energy system transformation, market challenges of clean‐tech innovation, ecological economics, socio‐material design and staging of innovation processes, the Center´s research draws broadly on perspectives from science and technology studies (STS).

Through its research, teaching and outreach activities, the Center’s ambition is not only to enhance our understanding of what sustainable transitions entail but also to develop methods and modes of intervention that can support transformations. The Center seeks to support the creation of new development paths, challenge and qualify existing debates and practices and support a variety of actors in making transitions to a more sustainable society happen.
