Wonderful Copenhagen and Copenhagen Municipality have voted the Greater Copenhagen Smart Solutions Conference as winner in the "Initiative of the Year" category at the 2017 Copenhagen Congress and Event Awards.
Yesterday, Copenhagen City Hall was the setting for the annual award ceremony of the Copenhagen Congress and Event Awards, which honor the firebrands the previous year’s most important events in the capital. 2016 was the year with most congresses and events in Copenhagen on record.
In the “Initiative of the Year” category, Greater Copenhagen Smart Solutions 2016 won the prize for their innovative and original way of holding a conference with the city’s space as a framework.
“Greater Copenhagen Smart Solutions 2016 is an excellent example of a conference that reaches out and to become more than just powerpoints in endless chairs. With the green agenda as its theme, and Copenhagen as a canvas, the organizing group focused on an important issue while integrating Copenhagen’s unique facilities and locations,” said the awards judges, among other things.
“We are incredibly proud to have won this year’s initiative prize. The conference was a reason to show the Greater Copenhagen region’s strengths in smart digital solutions, innovative partnerships and green transition. At the same time, the award is a recognition of Frederikssund, Copenhagen and Albertslund Municipalities’ willingness to take the lead in developing the smart and sustainable cities of the future in collaboration with companies,” says Poul Erik Lauridsen, Director of Gate 21.
