Principal Consultant, Arup
Nicola works in Arup’s Smart Cities team, consulting on the role of digital technology in cities. Her clients are mainly national and municipal governments and masterplan developers. Some recent projects include defining smart city strategies for national government agencies in Denmark and Singapore, for city governments including Liverpool City Council and the City of Sydney. Nicola has also developed digital masterplans for sites in the Middle East, Australia, UK and Denmark. Her research publications include: Delivering the Smart City: Governing Cities in the Digital Age, Shaping Ageing Cities, Future Cities: UK Capabilities for Urban Innovation, and The New Economics of Cities. Before joining Arup, Nicola completed a Masters degree in urban policy and design at the London School of Economics and worked at Accenture in the Intelligent Cities team.
